Riverhill School Students Donate Blankets to Keller Foundation

Sheffield, Ala. - The students at Riverhill School, Florence, recently made a very important donation to the Helen Keller Hospital Foundation. The students made over 30 fleece comfort blankets to donate to the HKH Foundation. In turn, the Foundation gives these to the Kid's Place (the pediatric area of Helen Keller Hospital).

"Being admitted into the hospital is a difficult time for everyone," said Pam Fleming, Foundation Director, "but it can be especially scary for our smallest patients." The comfort blankets will be kept on hand at the Kid's Place for children who have gone through an especially traumatic event or who have to be transported to another facility.

"In some situations, pediatric patients admitted to the Kid's Place at Helen Keller Hospital need a little extra comfort," said Debbie Gerelds, Pediatric and Nursery director. "This donation is not only appreciated by the staff and employees of the hospital, but by the patients and families of our communities. We send a big thank you to the students and families of Riverhill School."
