Huntsville Hospital CEO Elected Chairman of State Association Board
Montgomery, AL- David Spillers, chief executive officer of Huntsville Hospital Health System, was installed today as chairman of the Alabama Hospital Association (AlaHA) at the Association's board meeting in Montgomery.
"We are looking forward to David's service as our board chairman," said Donald E. Williamson, MD, president of the Alabama Hospital Association. "He is a talented, innovative leader who is committed to transformative health care and to ensuring a voice for hospitals and their patients in the efforts to make care better. We are excited about the leadership he will bring to our board."
Mr. Spillers has served as Huntsville Hospital's chief executive officer since 2006 and was previously chief operating officer of Mission Hospitals, a large integrated health care system in Asheville, North Carolina. He currently serves on the Alabama Hospital Association Board of Directors and Executive Committee and is a member of its Medicaid Future Task Force. In addition, he is a member of the Regional Trauma Advisory Council of North Alabama, the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Executive Committee and the VHA Southeast Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
Founded in 1921, the Alabama Hospital Association is a statewide trade organization that assists member hospitals in effectively serving the health care needs of Alabama, through advocacy, representation, education and service.
