Emergency Services

Helen Keller's Emergency Department offers emergency care for the acutely ill and injured, 24-hours a day, 7 days per week with a complement of credentialed Emergency Department Physicians, nurses, technicians and clerks. The ER includes trauma bays equipped with the latest built-in x-ray equipment for increased patient comfort.

The Keller Emergency Room offers a "First Care" option. With "First Care", you may choose to be seen by a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant for your illness if it is considered non-life-threatening. Often, there is a shorter wait time to see a CRNP or PA.

Keller's ER waiting room is large and comfortable. Two separate entrances are available for ambulance/trauma and walk-in patients.

During high-volume periods, there will be two emergency department physicians available to assist members of our community who require emergent care.
